This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) governs the use of the multi-vendor e-commerce platform operated by McGillivary Group Inc. under the trade name Shop VI (“ShopVI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), accessible via shopvi.ca (the “Platform”). All vendors, users, and customers (“you” or “your”) are required to comply with this Policy when accessing or using the Platform. By using the Platform, you agree to the terms of this Policy and acknowledge that violations may result in suspension or termination of your access. 

1. PERMITTED USE 

The Platform is intended to facilitate lawful commerce between local vendors and consumers on Vancouver Island. Vendors may list and sell legitimate goods, including but not limited to home goods, food, clothing, handmade products, candles, and other approved items. 

2. PROHIBITED USES 

You agree not to use the platform to: 

• Engage in any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive activity. 
• Sell, distribute, or advertise products that are illegal under Canadian law or prohibited by local municipal regulations. 
• Post or transmit any content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, or otherwise offensive. 
• Infringe on any intellectual property rights or proprietary rights of others. 
• Introduce malicious code, viruses, or any software that disrupts or interferes with the operation of the Platform. 
• Engage in price manipulation, fake reviews, or other deceptive commercial practices. 
• Collect or harvest personal data from other users without consent. 

You agree not to use the platform to sell: 

Vendors may not sell items or services that are illegal or that violate the intellectual property rights of a third party, like tobacco, cannabis, firearms, or sexual services. No used products are to be sold on the platform.  All products uploaded to ShopVI must be new. The listing for sale of any such items or services will result in the suspension or termination of your account with us. 

3. VENDOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

Vendors are responsible for ensuring that:

•  All product descriptions, pricing, and images are accurate and not misleading. 
• All goods comply with applicable safety, labeling, and consumer protection laws.
• All food products are prepared, handled, and stored in compliance with provincial and municipal health regulations. 
• Orders are fulfilled in a timely and professional manner. 
• Any disputes with customers are resolved in good faith. 

4. USER RESPONSIBILITIES 

Users and customers agree to: 

• Use the Platform only for lawful personal purchases. 
• Not misuse vendor listings, contact information, or messaging systems. 
• Provide accurate account and payment information. 
• Refrain from interfering with vendor operations or the integrity of the Platform. 

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

 All content, trademarks, and materials made available through ShopVI remain the property of McGillivary Group Inc. or its licensors. Users and vendors may not reproduce, modify, or redistribute any content without prior written consent. 

6. ENFORCEMENT 

ShopVI reserves the right to monitor Platform activity and investigate any suspected violations of this Policy. We may suspend or terminate any account that violates this Policy or applicable law, with or without prior notice. 

7. REPORTING VIOLATIONS 

If you believe that another user or vendor is violating this Policy, please contact us immediately at: helpdesk@shopvi.ca 

8. AMENDMENTS 

We may revise this Policy from time to time. Any changes will take effect upon posting on ShopVI.ca. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy. 

9. GOVERNING LAW 

This Policy and all related matters are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. McGillivary Group Inc. Doing business as ShopVI Vancouver Island, British Columbia at www.shopvi.ca
